MAICO I.S. CONFOCAL MICROSCOPY SOLUTION
Hamamatsu Maico & Inscoper I.S.
confocal solution for everyday imaging
The MAICO I.S. is a turnkey solution for laser scanning confocal microscopy, compatible with all brands of microscopes. It is the perfect solution for everyday microscopy imaging, either as a benchtop microscope in a laboratory or as a first-line system in a core facility.
The MAICO I.S. solution consists of:
1 – a compact unit for confocal imaging that connects to the camera port of any conventional microscope body, that contains up to four fluorescence excitation and detection channels (each channel includes laser source, pinhole, detector),
2 – a device controller for triggering and synchronizing the microscope signals,
3 – a full-featured image acquisition software.
FOR LIVE CELL IMAGING.
LOW LASER POWER, HIGH FRAME RATE
The MEMS Confocal Unit (1) from Hamamatsu is an all-in-one microscopy module for laser scanning confocal imaging. It contains all the components required to obtain high-quality confocal images, from laser excitation to fluorescence detection including pinholes and filtering. With its low laser power and high-speed scanning, the MEMS unit is compatible with live cell imaging. The MEMS mirror scanning device enables the acquisition of 19 frames per second at the full field of view. This high scanning speed also contributes to reduce photobleaching, in addition to the high-sensitivity GaAsP PMT detectors that enables the use of low laser power.
FOR BIOLOGISTS.
INTUITIVE SOFTWARE AND SEAMLESS INTEGRATION
Hamamatsu has selected the Inscoper I.S. control & image acquisition solution (2, 3) to provide MAICO users with the best experience. The software is stable and user-friendly (quick to learn). It features a single window with three tabs, whether for a simple timelapse or a more sophisticated multi-dimensional acquisition. Fluorescence excitation and image acquisition can be performed sequentially or simultaneously on up to the four channels, and be part of a complete workflow with on-the-fly deconvolution. The MEMS unit is easily connected to the microscope’s C-mount port and can be used with any microscope configuration in the I.S. software interface. The first two years of product warranty and support service are included in the MAICO I.S. offer.
